What Causes Intense Itchiness On The Foot Despite Using Neosporin For Insect Bite?
I got a family of chigger bites on the top of my foot and ankle. (About 13 bites) They itch like crazy, but I know its not a good idea to scratch them. I just took a HOT shower and each bite burst, oozing a milky brownish green puss for about 5 min. I washed them with hydrogen peroxide (stung like hell), pat them dry (they are still oozing a bit), applied neosporin and covered them with a bandage. They still icth and sting a little, but nowhere near as intense as they did. Is they anything else I can do and should I be concerned about them bursting.
Take a course of Fluconazole (antifungal) after clinical examination by a GP or a dermatologist. If required you can be prescribed antihistamines, Levocetrizine.
Damp, cold compress may be effective. Take care of your hygiene, do not keep the skin dry but apply calamine lotion or moisturizer. Avoid scratching.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,

What Causes Intense Itchiness On The Foot Despite Using Neosporin For Insect Bite?
Hello, Intense itching in the foot is commonly due to tinea pedis (fungal infection) contact or atopic dermatitis, dry skin, allergy, bug bites, etc. You can continue to use hydrogen peroxide. You can apply clotrimazole ointment in the affected area for relief.
