Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Intense Itchiness On The Neck And Chest While Treating Picker S Nodule?
I have a HORRIBLE case of pickers nodule. I cannot quit scratching, It is terribly embarrassing, and I want to quit sooo bad. It even wakes me itching. I also have it on my neck and back and chest. I m a mess, please suggest something. I wash my hair every other day and use an antiseptic type liquid on my scalp!!!! It is much like listerine but for hair and helps for about 5 minutes.
Pickers nodules may start out as anything causing itching and then the nerves in that area go haywire and the person picks and rubs and continues to manipulate the area.
The only way to break the cycle is to not touch these spots alt all. For itching, topical or injected corticosteroid.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
