It can also occur due to diabetic neuropathy, cirrhosis (primary biliary cirrhosis), nerve disorders, etc. Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are scabies, eczema or dry skin. You can apply ice packs or cold compression in the areas affected. It will give relief. Applying hydrocortisone ointment on the affected area effectively reduces itching. Taking antihistamine at bed time will give relief. Take care of your hygiene and keep the affected areas moisturized with a good herbal lotion that is water based.
