What Causes Intense Menstrual Like Cramps While Treating Fibroids?
I am 56 yrs old and had fibroids removed several years ago, I now have them again size of a finger nail, I went to my GYN for the past year complaing of menstral cramping and bad odor. It is deflating to say the least. I want them removed but it has fallen in deaf eyes. I want to scream on top of the mountain. My doctor does t understand why I am getting cramps and all the other symptoms that are making me feel horible! What should I do, I feel I tried everything else. I want them removed should that help me??
Often women who have menstrual symptoms like you are considered for a hysterectomy, which can often help eliminate these problems, and protects against other problems from the uterus, such as uterine cancer.
So I would consider discussing this with your doctor to see what they think about that.
Also, if you make sure to let your doctor know that these symptoms are not improving on their own, that is often a factor that is considered before doing a major surgery like this, since sometimes women have symptoms for a short while which resolve on their own, and so surgery would not be beneficial.
But if your problems are persisting long enough, they may consider surgery again.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
