What Causes Intense Pain Below The Right Chest And Back While Having DVT?

I went to the emergency room thinking I was having a blood clot in my lungs, because I had DVT when I had surgery on my knee. I am having throbbing pain in the upper right chest right below the clavicle which then radiates to the upper back. In addition to this it seems that pain is in the neck area radiating to my right shoulder.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As there is a strong history of DVT, the immediate possible threat comes to the pulmonary embolism and the same should be ruled out with all relevant tests of pulmonary scan for best management in a hospital setting.

* Do feel free to discuss the issue once your condition is stabilized for your future interest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
