What Causes Intense Pain In Right Side Of Abdomen In A 10 Year Old?
10 year old girl has abdominal pain on the right side for a week. She describes the pain as stabbing. She does not have a fever, is not doubled over. Eating and drinking have no effect on her symptoms. She has not had diarrhea or constipation. The pain is affecting her sleep and general well being. She says she feels like she is going to throw up often.

HI....This could be simple worm infestation or Appendicitis.
If its worm infestation Albendazole Syrup should work.
Appendicitis is more prone to occur in extremes of age. But it is associated in Pain, vomiting and fever. If she has fever there is high probability of Appendicitis. In such case get an USG abdomen done and take her to your general surgeon.
Kindly consult your Paediatrician for further follow up.
