Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Intense Pain In The Middle Of The Shoulder Radiating Towards Back?
I have chronic pain in my middle shoulder/mid back that isn t allowing me to take a full breath. My pain level is at eight. I have the feeling of wanting to throw up like I m not in the middle of my stomach. A few days ago it also is experiencing the same pain in my right lower back.
Severe pain can be associated with nausea in many persons. Imaging of the back and shoulder would be an important part of determining the exact cause of the pain.
The most common reasons for joint pain are trauma, infection, inflammatory disorders of the joints (eg arthritis).
Anti-inflammatory meds such as Cataflam, Ibuprofen or Naproxen may help but it would be best to be seen and assessed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
