What Causes Intense Pain On Right Side Of The Head?
Causes of prolonged pain on the right side of the head with incidents of stabbing pain. Wakes up my daughter in the night and has for the last week. She had a tooth filled several months ago which has caused some pain she thinks might be related. Just returned from pediatritian to check for ear infection, all clear. The pedi could not find any causes for her pain (no abscess signs around the tooth) tylenol and advil do nothing to alleviate, she has had severe headaches all day and it seems to be intensifying

Intense pain on right side of head in your daughter could be because of some tooth infection. Tooth infection has tendency to cause severe pain & stabbing pain. Also the pain could radiate to head as well. Dental pain also increases at night or during sleep due to increase in pressure of blood in jaws.
You daughter also had history of some tooth filling, so there might be some infection in those. A dental infection sometimes does not cause any abscess or swelling & cause severe pain.
You have already checked for some Ear infection. You are advised to get your daughter checked for some dental infection. The dentist would do a Xray to check if there is some infection in teeth. In meanwhile you could gave your daughter paracetamol/ibuprofen for pain relief
