What Causes Intense Shooting Pain In The Legs Post A Sunburn?

Hi, I was badly burnt on Sunday after being in the sun for an hour. However, the heat of the burn and pain had subsided substantially. Laying down is no problem however, when I stand up to walk I get an intense pain shoot down my legs and I can hardly walk. What could this be?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Intense shooting pain extending down the lower limbs is more commonly related to the lower back and problems related to the nerves in the lower back.

It can be temporary or permanent.

Severe burns can damage the nerves in the area, so it possible that this may be the reason for the pain.
It may be best , however, to make sure that there are no other causes for the pain if it continues.

The use of anti inflammatory pain medication may help eg naproxen, cataflam, ibuprofen or voltaren

I hope this helps
