What Causes Inter Menstrual Bleeding After Taking Plan B?

I took play b on mar 11th the day after, the 15th I had a period it lasted about 5 days, then the 28th I started light pink bleeding and it is now 6 days later and I’m still bleeding but it’s bright red and almost just like water, a lot of it! What’s going on with me? My next period is due here in about a week or so...

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Suggestive of hormonal imbalance. Plan-B contains high dose of hormone progesterone and this leads to hormone imbalance resulting in withdrawal bleeding which you had it for 5 days. With Plan B you may also have some unexpected bleeding. It should go away by the time of your next period. However, it is possible that it may cause your next period to be heavier or lighter than usual. It may also come earlier or later than is normal for you. If your period is unusually light or unusually heavy you should contact your doctor as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
