Age48 i have been having abnormal vaginal bleeding after my menstrual for a few months it will last another week To week &half I’ve had a DNC and Endome...biopsy earlier this year all clear and then it occurred again recent past two weeks bleeding for 2 1/2 weeks but now I’m wondering if i should see A specialist. I’ve been seeing my gynecologist and now we’re scheduling another DNC and another sonogram and more bloodwork I don’t want to have something wrong with me but something apparently has to be wrong I just don’t know what type of doctor to see if needed. Also if this is regular procedure to repeat or should another step be taken now?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Irregular and intermenstrual bleeding is common during perimenopausal period. However, it is important to rule out any underlying uterine or ovarian pathology. Pelvic examination, pelvic ultrasound and D and C are recommended at this point. You can follow up with your obgyn for the necessary evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
