General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The intermenstrual bleeding you had could be late ovulation. It would be followed by normal menstruation within 2 weeks of bleeding. In case of delayed bleeding home pregnancy test of urine would give positive results after 8 days delay in periods. In case of negative pregnancy test, and irregularly continuous again, get investigated (USG scan and blood check up) to assess cause of period problem.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
