What Causes Intermittent Abdominal Pain Near The Navel?
I am a 61 healthy male with a sudden onset of a dull internittent pain in my left abdomen aligned with my belly button. Could be gas? There are NO organs here I know of. Too low in the abdomen. What do u suggest? Maybe some warm coke to break the gas. Bowel movements are normal. Am expelling normal gas.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Pain in abdomen on left side can be due to the following reasons: Colitis. Enteritis Left ureteric stone. This can be diagnosed by the following ways: Get a clinical evaluation by a General Surgeon. Tests of stool, blood and urine. Ultrasonography of the abdomen. A course of an antibiotic, metronidazole, antispasmodic and probiotic may help is there is any evidence of infection. If there is no relief with these then go for an opinion of a Gastroenterologist, colonoscopy and CT scan of teh abdomen to get a probable diagnosis and a plan of further management.
