What Causes Intermittent Bleeding In The Mouth?

My blood was bleeding at 6:30am, 11:30am and again at 2pm. I looked in my mount and it was not my teeth or gums that I could see this morning. When it stopped I brushed my teeth , blew my nose and gargled and found NO blood. It did it again at 11:30am and lasted maybe 1-2 minutes and I just kept rinsing out my mouth until it stopped. At 2pm at was at Kaiser Urgent care --and they called me in at 3:05pm and could not find anything with the P.A. saying maybe there is a cut on my tongue. (come back if it persists) REALLY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest that you see a dentist. Most mouth bleeding is from gum disease. It could also be from some other sort of lesion in the mouth.

Dentists are more familiar with these problems than doctors. You could also see an ENT surgeon, but a dentist would be my first choice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Kathy Robinson, General & Family Physician
