What Causes Intermittent Burning Sensation During Urination?
I have been having a burning sensation off and on for 3 months...especially when I have to go to the bathroom...I am on a drug for cancer called Octreotide which I take a shot once a month...my family doctor has put me on an antibotic called cipro and one called bactrin...when a urine sample is taken it comes back the culture shows no forms of bacitria present. Could this be a yeast infection of some type?
Side effects of Octreotide are bladder pain, bloody or cloudy urine along with some other symptoms. You are advised to inform your treating doctor about the symptoms you are experiencing so that you can be taken care. Your symptoms are due to the side effects of the medications prescribed. Your treating doctor needs to look on to it.
You are advised to keep yourself well hydrated with water and fluids. Take care of your hygiene. Poor genital hygiene may cause such symptoms. Get clinically examined by a Urologist. Get Urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done. Your treatment will depend on the diagnosis made.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
