Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Over the last two days I have been experiencing intermittent pain in my left upper calf when walking. It feels similar to the pressure you experience when having your blood pressure taken, a sudden tightening of an area at the back of my leg but it is not a cramp. Other information that might be pertinent is that I sustained a subtalar dislocation of my left foot and a fractured tibia plateau of my left leg six years ago. I have nine pins and a plate in my leg as a result of this fracture.
If it continues then you can see your doctor for assessment. This would include assessing the pulses in the lower limb. A test called the ankle brachial index may also be done. This compares the blood pressure in the ankle to that in the arm
I hope this helps

What Causes Intermittent Calf Pain While Walking?
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic The most common reason for calf pain on activity is peripheral artery disease. This refers to decreased blood supply in the area. This can occur as a result of age, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, overweight/obesity. Trauma is also a possible cause. If it continues then you can see your doctor for assessment. This would include assessing the pulses in the lower limb. A test called the ankle brachial index may also be done. This compares the blood pressure in the ankle to that in the arm I hope this helps
