What Causes Intermittent Chest Pain During Exercise?
I am a 22yr old male and I am experiencing intermittent chest pain at rest and while exercising . At present I am training for a half marathon and with that starting to train for a triathlon which is not until next year. I have been to my GP and had an ECG and chest X-ray both have come back normal. My question would be do I need further investigation and if so , what .Regards,Frankie King
Welcome at HCM I have gone through your query and being your physician i completely understand your health concerns. For how long u are suffering from it? Any other associated problem? like diabetes or hypertension? Any history of asthma or allergy? ECG and chest X ray which came back normal are reassuring in your case , it now seem that pain most probably due to muscular in origin. You should stay calm and take rest. you can use pain killers like acetaminophen to relieve pain. if the problem persists despite above interventions , then pay at least a single visit to CARDIOLOGIST for expert assessment.. Meanwhile stay calm and use acetaminophen to relieve pain Get well soon Hope your query is adequately addressed if you still have any feel free to ask Regards Dr Saad Sultan
