What Causes Intermittent Dizziness In A Child?

My 4 yr old has been complaining off and on that the world is spinning with no headache, or nausea. Just the spinning but to look at her think nothing wrong. I ignored her and didn t think anything of it when she told me a few times that she felt dizzy in the past. But she told me today again so I brought her to PCP and checked her ears, vision and found nothing wrong. He wants me to see a neurologist. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Dizziness in young children is commonly caused by spinning for too long whilst playing, or standing up too fast.
In these instances, there is certainly no cause for concern.
I suggest to visit a neurologist to exclude any possible neurological issue.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
