What Causes Intermittent Fever With Outbreak Of Rashes In A Child?

My daughter who is almost 7 has been running a fever off and on for seven days. It will get as high as 103.6.
It usually goes away with the back and fourth of motrin and acetaminophen. She will also get this rash that is large and small spots that are raised. It also will go away two hours or more into a liquid centirizine hci 5mgs.
Strange thing is the rash will be upper torso then go away after treating. When it comes back it will be lower body. This time when it came back it was all over and same looking rash in same places? I took her to ER on Sunday night. They checked her urine and took chest x-ray. Also flu swab. Everything came back normal.
I of course got the it's viral go home treat symptoms. That's all well and good but what kind of viral thing lasts this long could it be something else? Small detail, my little one has spina-bifada, with a vp shunt. I've
experienced shunt failure before this is not presenting in that manor. Or should I say like before.
Thank you, Christina Harrington
