What Causes Intermittent Headache While Having Sleep Apnea?

My hubby, who recently retired, is suffering from headaches for the past three months. They normally come mid day, either in the back of his neck or towards the top side. He has gone to our primary doctor who had an MRI done but nothing showed to be wrong. She prescribed him Flexeril. He is diabetic and has sleep apnea. The doctor mentioned cluster headaches but he believes they are more of tension headaches. I called a neurologist to make him an appointment but they recommend he follow up with the primary doctor????? What are your thoughts and/or recommendations. Thank you.
