What Causes Intermittent Itching On Scrotum Despite Using Hydrocortisone And Clotrimazole?

Ive used topical and oral fungicide on scrotal rash. Terbinafine cream, clotrimazole cream, and nystatin powder. Then fluconazole oral pill. Also used hydrocortisone. The itch sometimes goes away for weeks but it comes back. My doctor gave up, and referred me to a Dermatologist but my insurance expired. This on and off itch has lasted over 1 year. Please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a yeast infection. I recommend to maintain a good hygiene and use cotton breathable underwear. I also suggest to use an anti fungal treatment such as Fluconazole 150 mg once.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
