Hi,

Combination of intermittent loss of voice and bleeding nose in a child can be due to one of the following reasons and should really be diagnosed asap and to have proper management. Inflammation of upper respiratory passage due to allergy, infection or so. Can have some disorder causing such symptoms.

Consult the Primary asap and get a reference for an ENT Surgeon for clinical examination of nose, laryngoscopy if possible to know primary cause. Also get investigations of blood, including bleeding and clotting profile. All these will give the proper diagnosis and thus allow a specific treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

General Surgeon Dr. T Chandrakant's  Response
Hi,

9 year old girl having loss of voice and nosebleed is a serious matter and you still have not consulted a Doctor or a Specialist is a concern. I would advise you to consult the primary physician and get referred to an ENT Surgeon.
- ENT Endoscopy will help to know the cases of both the conditions
- Additional MRI or so as needed
- Tests of blood, bleeding and coagulation profile
- All this will lead to a proper diagnosis so that a specific treatment can be done

Do not waste time by trying some treatment, go for an early proper diagnosis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
