What Causes Intermittent Nerve Tingling And Numbness In Arms And Face?
I havehad mixed connective tissue for 20 years. I am now experiencing intermitent nerve tingling and numbness in my arms and face on one side or the other. Last month my Hgb. was 11.8, the best it has been in years. Now only 2 weeks later it is 8.5 with no idea where it has gone. I am very weak, should I be transfused? I have never felt this low.
Your detail clinical history, physical examination, drug history needed for proper evaluation
You have drastically reduced HB level in just two week
So it could be secondary to bleeding or by hemolytic anemia... But before jumping on this, it is better to evaluate again with repeat sample for HB estimation and peripheral smear examination with retic count.. Serum LDH also is to be done
If hemolysis present than evaluated for cause and treated accordingly because in this only blood transfusion will not improve your HB
So based on your PS finding and blood indices cause should be searched for low HB...
For tingling and numbness serum calcium, B12 level checked and neuropathy ruled out by examination and treated accordingly
Take care
Physician consultation advisable for examination
