Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Intermittent Pain Behind Right Jawbone While Suffering From Anxiety Disorder?
I ve been experiencing pain in the back of my right jawbone area off and on today. Worsens when I push on it (sore) and have occasional sharp pain back there. It seems to occur more frequently when I move my head side to side. I have panic/anxiety disorder and it kicks it when something like this happens. I have quit a bit of gas today and had like a heavy feeling around right shoulder (under arm) very briefly around 8:30 and then my arm felt kind of dead from shoulder to elbow. I ve drank soda and been belching a lot right now. My pulse rate (normally 48-55 resting got up to 72 at one point. Took bp around half hour ago and it was 178/89 and normally runs 132/78. Is there any cause for concern? I was diagnosed 21 years ago with sinus arrhythmia and a premature beat and have been on high bp meds and heart med (carvedilol) since that time. All my annual cardio tests have been okay. Thanks
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query. The pain behind right jaw bone can be because of the disc displacement in the temporomandibular joint. Nothing to be panic, consult an oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of analgesic like piroxicam (if you are not allergic). You can give warm fomentation over the joint region. Take soft diet. You need to get a radiograph done to confirm the diagnosis. I hope i have answered your query. Take care.
