What Causes Intermittent Pain In Left Abdomen Radiating Towards Thigh?

I have intermittent pain in my left abdomen (under left rib cage) and sometimes the pain moves to center right abdomen and down my left thigh. What could this be? I ve only seen a gyno about it and she told me that she s suspecting endometriosis. But she does think the pain is in an odd place.

Hi,

You should definitely have a (contrast enhanced) sonography of your abdomen. This is a simple and fast way to get an idea of what’s going on inside your lower upper body, no radiation needed. With this issue, I wouldn’t see a gynecologist but rather a gastroenterologist who has a sonography machine which is not older than five years.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Alexander Davis, General & Family Physician
