Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Intermittent Pain In The Lower Right Side Of The Back?
I have intermittent back pain, right side. I thought that I was passing a Kidney stone, as I have done that once before. However this pain subsided but never went away and I become more aware of it at night. I am having some lower back nerve pain that is currently being treated. During the day I am aware of a presence rather than pain.
I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.
Your symptoms might be due to recurrence of kidney stones or other causes too. As recurrence of kidney stones are most common, I advice you to, 1. Take antispasmodics 2. Take syrup Citralka 3. Avoid excessive intake of food rich in calcium & oxalates (milk products, chocolates, tea, coffee, citrus fruits etc.) 4. Avoid Vitamin C & calcium supplements 5. Ensure daily urine output morethan 2litres & excess fluids intake 6. Do USG pelvis to look for pathology 7. Renal function tests
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Get well soon.
Regards, Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
