Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have intermittent severe pain and muscle or nerves pulling my toes back so far they feel as if they will break off, lasts about 3 to 5 minutes and then subsides. Sometimes hot water will help to relieve the forcefulness of the attack. Nobody knows what it is. Please help.
Intermittent pain in the toes that may get sharp & intolerable commonly occur due to intermittent narrowing of the blood pressure (reduced blood supply). Exposure to extreme cold may cause manifestation of such symptoms. Deficiency of vitamin B1, B6, B12 may also cause sudden, sharp burning pain. You may take Acetaminophen (tylenol), one SOS when required. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Neurologist to rule out peripheral neuropathy, diabetes, raynauld's disease, etc. You will have to go through Nerve Conduction test, Nerve biopsy & few Imaging tests if required. Take nutritious diet & stay away from addictions if any.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
