What Causes Intermittent Sharp Pain In Left Ear While On Alprazolam?
Hello, Just taking having been having sudden infrequent sharp pain in my left ear and then brushed my hair to put it up in a ponytail and scalp was tender to brush. I have developed anxiety due to work stress and have been taking Alprazolam 0.25mg for approximately 3 months.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of intermittent sharp pain in the ear. The probable reason for blocked ear is ear infection, because there is pain. It could be due to foreign body infection, excessive stress, excessive wax and fluid accumulation. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper checkup and treatment . Doctor will examine ear and throat physically and ears with otoscope and rule out causes like wax buildup and temporomandibular problem . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin) at least for 10 days along with anti inflammatory drugs . For now keep your ears dry and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
