What Causes Intermittent Spotting Along With Blood Clots And Back Pain?

I am have been experiencing spotting off and on for about a week. I just had a menstrual cycle two weeks ago and I had my tubes ties in 2007. Went to the bathroom and discovered two small blood clots. I have some lower back pain as well. Should I go to the ER today or follow up with my PCM Monday?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The situation does not seem to be anything serious. This situation could be a hormonal imbalance. Anyway, a physical exam and an abdominal ultrasound is necessary. But the situation is not an emergency and it can wait until consulting with your PCM on Monday.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
