What Causes Intermittent Spotting, abdominal Pressure And Nausea?
Hello I have been experiencing some symptoms and was searching for help , I started spotting on and off that turned into flow like bleeding then suddenly stopped this occurred for 12 days total , I am also experiencing cramps and pressure in my lower stomach , followed by nausea and I m also pretty tired than usual I took 2 pregnancy test but both came back negative what do you think is going on
Hello and welcome to HCM, Spotting off and on followed by continuous bleeding for 12 days is suggestive of abnormal uterine bleeding. Associated lower abdominal cramps and pressure suggests some mass lesion causing pressure in lower abdomen. These symptoms suggest the possibility of fibroiduterus, however, an ultrasound abdomen is required to assess the uterus and look for the presence of any mass lesion and thus management. Hormonal imbalance also causes these symptoms. In case no lesion is detected on ultrasound, an endometrial biopsy/ curreting can be taken out for histopathological examination. For all this work up, you need to consult your gynecologist for planning appropriate management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
