What Causes Intermittent Squinting Eye?

Hi, I have an intermittent squint, it happens a lot when my eyes are tired or when I m gazing thinking about something. I m 39 years old and the problem is very frustrating since I do a lot of reading. What are my medical options? Are the any complimentary medical approaches to treat this condition?

Hello,

You are suffering from intermittent squinting eye. Commonly squint is caused because of heredity issues. Squint can be caused due to eye muscles weakness, problem in the nerves or damaged eye muscles. Squint due to muscle or nerve weakness can be improved successfully by physiotherapy, doing certain exercises for strengthening eye muscles. Get connected to a trained Physical therapist.

Medical conditions that may trigger squint are cataract, glaucoma, corneal scars, optic nerve disease, refractive errors, tumors of the eye, retinal disease etc. Squint eyes can also take place if you have suffered any eye injury. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an Eye specialist. Get the required tests and investigations done to detect the pathology causing you symptom so that the treatment can be started at the earliest,

In the meantime, give eye intermittent rest between work, let muscles and nerves relax. You can include food good for the nerves in your regular diet. You can also take supplements like Nervup forte. Squint is treated with eye muscle exercises, using an injection in the eye muscle, eyeglasses containing prisms and sometimes by surgery of the eye muscles.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
