What Causes Intermittent Stabbing Pain In The Chest?

I have a dull, intermittent, stabling pain in my chest on the inside of my left (and lessor so) pectoral muscle. I have had it for over a month. My pulse is low (60-65 on average per minute), I am 65 years old, and have been a regular swimmer for 35 years (about 2000 yards 4 times a week) and have no shortness of breath or vomiting at any time while working out. I also feel some intermittent pressure on my chest between my pectoral muscles, like a 8-10 weight is on my chest. Any suggestions? Thank you. roach@rimlawyers.c

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It looks that you are experiencing symptoms of Angina. However, it can also be due to acid reflux, dehydration or gastritis.

You are suggested to take antacid, PPI's & avoid constipation. Stay well hydrated.

Visit ER or a cardiologist. Get clinically examined & get CC, Urinalysis, Lipid profile, X-Ray, EKG, Echo, USG, Stress tests done to rule out ny developing Coronary artery disease(CAD).

Take homemade food, avoid oily food, red meat, dairy products. Take fruits, veggies, berries & maintain a healthy lifestyle. Avoid addictions if any.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
