What Causes Intermittent Swelling In The Foot And Ankle?

I have had swelling in my left foot and ankle on and off for about a month. Started when I had a severe case of poison ivy, but I also swell in the heat with menstrual cycle. I have a desk job as well. Just concerned because the swelling used to go down at night to zero, now it only decreases but as soon as I m vertical I can feel my skin tightening and the swelling begins again.

Hi
Through your post as you have mentioned that you have swelling in only one limb usually swelling of only one limb is considered alway abnormal, I would suggest to do a venous doppler of affected leg to see the cause of swelling.
I find this answer helpful
