What Causes Intermittent Thick Mucus Buildup In The Throat?
I have had thick, icky mucus in the back of my throat 24/7 since I moved to St. Louis 4 months ago. Have had this condition off-and-on for years almost every place I ve lived, but never this severe or constant. I feel like my throat and airways are never clear.
Appears to be case of Laryngopharyngeal reflux. Do you have cough or fever associated with it? How is your sleep of late? A retrograde flow of acid is primary cause of Laryngopharyngeal reflux. Try some Proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazol 40 mg once in the morning on empty stomach. Sleep with head slightly elevated. Do not lie down immediately after eating. Regular exercise and cutting down on coffee might help. Stay healthy.
