What Causes Intermittent Tightness In Chest Along With Pressure In Head?

I felt a tightness in my chest and a pressure in my head....not a headache - I checked my blood pressure and it was 168/96. I am a 44 year old smoking female. It all went away after about 10 minutes and I have been fine ever since (about 2 hours now) what could it be?

Hi,

Your problem can be most likely due to hypertension. Blood pressure should be controlled properly with medication and life style modification. Electrocardiogram should be taken to rule out hypertrophy of heart or ischemia.
