Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I sometimes experience intestinal cramps, like as if material is slowly moving thru my intestines and it gives me sharp pains, usually on my left side. It slowly moves like the material is being processed or pushed thru my stomach. It goes away but takes a couple of hours. I can t track it to certain foods. This occurs in winter as right now. I do go thru waves of constipation but usually have loose bowls, more to the diarrhea side vs constipation.
Most likely this is irritable bowel syndrome but it might otherwise be either a gall bladder problem or an absorption problem like celiac disorder.
You need to have a doctor full evaluate this with blood work, a ct scan of the abdomen, upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. Depending on the exact diagnosis, there is effective treatment
