Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 71 year old female. Recently my left nipple has inverted-about 4 times. My primary care physician does not seem too concerned, and my mammogram 6 months ago was normal. I have a history of breast cancer in my family. Mother and younger sister. Should I be concerned, and if so, what should my next step be? Thank you YYYY@YYYY

What Causes Inverted Nipples?
Hi, An inverted nipple can be a sign of underlying cancer. It can also happen as an age-related change due to fibrosis of your breast tissue. You can go for a mammogram preferably “MR mammogram “to look for any underlying malignancy. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
