Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My boyfriend shudders often. It is involuntary and he says he can feel it coming on and when it happens it is quick and over with but it is becoming more frequent and it is beginning to cause me concern. It happens whether he is in the heat (he works outside in Florida) or in the cold or resting or simply sleeping. Is this something to worry about? What could be the cause? What would you recommend? Thank you. Michelle
Hello Welcome to health care magic Thanks for putting your query over here.
Involuntary spams may be because of random muscle spasms or hyperactive nerve reflexes. Cause can be any neurological condition or minera/electrolytel imbalance. It may need investigations like CT scan head, scan of spine, serum minerals concentration. The investigation will depend on detailed medical history.Information provided here is inadequate. So it cannnot be commented upon. I advise you to visit physicuan/neurologist for further management.
Hope I answered your query
