What Causes Irregular And Heavy Menstrual Bleeding After Removing Mirena IUD?
Had Mirena iud removed 13 days ago. Second day after removal started my period(heavy lots of large clots and cramps)lasted 7 days then completely stopped. Then 2days later started again. The flow medium, cramping, lbp like a regular period. Is this normal after iud removal?
Commonly removal of Mirena IUD is followed with spotting or bleeding. Some women experience it for 24 or 48 hours while some may get for a few days to a week or 10 days. Some get very heavy bleeding after Mirena IUD removal. As the body adjusts with the hormonal changes the bleeding reduces but may remain irregular for a few months. In case of heavy bleeding, pain & discomfort contact your gynecologist immediately & get clinically examined to rule out any life threatening pathology.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
