What Causes Irregular Dark Vaginal Discharge And Cloudy Urine After Having IUD?
I had a baby at the beginning of 2014. Then had an IUD put in. Have had no periods since then. But for the last couple months I ve had unusual discharge that can be pinkish or brownish in color with cloudy urine and a foul smell. Also at times I have abdominal cramps and slight abdominal pain. What could this be?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. The symptoms what you are experiencing could be due to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), caused due to inflammatory response due to the presence of IUD. Kindly get an ultrasound scan of the abdomen and pelvic region done. Consult Gynecologist with the report at the earliest for clinical evaluation, proper diagnosis and appropriate management. Depending on the nature and extent of inflammation, you may need to be treated with a course of antiinflammatory and antibiotic medications. Also, you may need the removal of IUD and you need to adopt for some other means of contraception that would suit you. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
