Hello dear user!
Welcome to hcm!
I have gone through your query and i'm trying to give my view about it.
Your husband is more prone to have cardiac disorders and rhythm disorders because he has some conditions that may affect the heart.
If he takes thyroid hormones to cure
hypothyroidism, the hormones may give side effects such as fast heart rate, palpitations, dizziness etc. In that case he should adjust the dose of thyroid hormones.
Second, lipids disorders, high
cholesterol and triglycerides may affect the blood vessels and the heart giving such symptoms due to
atherosclerosis.
Hashimoto is an autoimmune disorder that affects not only the thyroid gland but other organs too.
I would recommend you to go through these tests and examination before taking a decision of therapy adjustment:
- ECG
- Cardiac and great blood vessels
ultrasonography.
- Thyroid hormones (T3, T4, TSH)
- Carotid arteries ultrasound
- Consult to a cardiologist to evaluate his heart function.
Please feel free to write us again after you get the results or consult your doctor at your healthcare center for further.
I wish you a good health!
Take care!
DR ERIOL.
