What Causes Irregular Heart Beats And Vomiting?

My son used to drink energy drinks at least a day and he has has now stopped I guess its been maybe a month now and he`s been having irregular heart beats. They have been rapid and then he get weak and almost passes out and he`s been nausea and vomiting. Could he be going thru withdrawals ?

I am not sure about the contents of his energy drink. If there are some harmful chemicals in that, it may cause irregular heart beats. I advice you to consult a doctor about the contents and safety of such drinks. Advice your son not to have it without consulting a doctor. I also suggest you to take him to a cardiologist and get detailed evaluation with ECG, ECHO, etc. Irregular heart beats may be 1. Physiologic -- that is normal in some people or 2. May be due to Heart disease or 3. Electrolyte imbalance - the wrong balance of electrolytes (such as sodium or potassium) in your blood. Get a detailed evaluation with the cardiologist.
