Having irregular heartbeat 2-3 per minute maybe ten minutes out of 60. Happens at least 3 days a week. Haven t had ekg. Or anything monitoring for three years. Last testing negative. Should I worry about this abnormal heartbeat sometimes it wakes me up in the middle of the night?
Yes, irregular heart best may wake you up at night and this is significant especially if you are not on drugs. it's necessary to repeat ECG to confirm and see your cardiologist to assess you properly. Chest x -ray, cardiac enzymes, UECs may be useful tests to do. For drugs only aspirin can assist. NB. Do not take any heart drugs without doctor's advise.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mutuma Geoffrey Zambezi
