What Causes Irregular Menstrual Bleeding?

Hi, I m a 23 year old female and have been getting lighter and shorter periods from the last 2-3 times. Generally my cycle used to last 5-6 days and now it s only heavy the first two days followed by 3 days of spotting. Is this something to be concerned about?

Hello,

Firstly, do not worry at all. Change in the trend of menstruation is seen from the teenage to early 20s. This is perfectly fine if the cycles are happening every month regularly without any other menstrual problems like severe intolerable pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
