What Causes Irregular Menstrual Flow After Weight Loss?
I am 39 years old. My period is not regular since I was 17. I have checked with the doctor before and I have no problem except my cycle is very slow. I took the past few month Shaklee GLA and my period was perfect. However recently I lose weight with diet and exercise, I got my period past 2weeks ago which is very very light hardly on my pad. And 3 days ago after I pee and clean I notice that there is light brownish pink blood on the toilet paper. I was thinking my period came again. However today the 3rd day same thing happen there is no blood on my pad but after I pee I wipe and there is light blood on toilet tissue. I am worried what is this. I don t feel any pain, I had sex totally fine with my husband . I have no kids. never get pregnant in my life at all.
Sometimes, due to weight loss you may become anemic and thus are having scanty menstruation. However, if you are having unprotected sex & are not taking BC pills or emergency CP, it can be indicative of implantation bleeding.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get blood tests, urine for pregnancy and few Imaging tests done to detect the factor causing the symptoms. You will be treated accordingly. In the mean time avoid stress, stay well hydrated. Take home made nutritious food rich in protein and minerals. Take adequate sleep.
