What Causes Irregular Menstruation After Unprotected Intercourse?
Hi I am 19 years old and Saturday and Sunday my boyfriend and I we had unprotected sex and the next I was bleeding like if I had my period but it was a little.. And i don t know if it means am pragnet or not this is the first time that is has happened to me.. Can you please help me..
Hello and welcome to HCM, Bleeding after having unprotected sex can be due to co-incidental onset of menstruation. Bleeding after unprotected sex is not a feature of conception or pregnancy. Trauma during intercourse can lead to bleeding, however, bleeding in such a case occurs immediately after having intercourse. Thus, onset of menstrual cycle is the most probable possibility. If the bleeding continues for longer period than expected for a normal menstrual cycle, I suggest you to consult your gynecologist.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
