What Causes Irregular Menstruation Post Child Birth?

I ve just weaned my baby completely. My periods started when he was 7 months, about 16 months back bit since then my cycle has become shorter and my periods have become longer. I used to have 6 day period now to lasts 9 days though heavy bleeding lasts about 3 days but spotting continues for 9 days . Is this normal ?

Cycles takes a while to elrestore to normal due to hormonal imbalance after delivery and also due to the suckling of the baby on nipples stimulates prolactin from the brain thay can inhibit menstruation or cause abnormalities.
