What Causes Irregular Menstruation While On Metformin And Duphaston?
Hi...I have irregular periods since few months ,I m married and want to conceive the 2nd child,im 32 years and have a 4 years old daughter.my doc prescribed me to take metformin 500 mg one tablet , folic acid tablet and duphaston 10 mg for 5 days from the 17 th to 22nd day of period for 3 months...she get me started by taking duphaston instantly ....after taking duphaston first time I got my period within 4 days but now this month it s been 6 days no period just a drop or two of pinkish discharge...what could be the reason for no period? I don t have pcos
Duphaston is synthetic progestogen, used for withdrawal periods. But it won't regularize your periods. If you want to conceive, do abdomen scan first to r/o PCOD and then thyroid profile (both can cause irregular periods and infertility).
