Hi, for a few years now my periods tend to start then skip a month start then skip a month this happens all the time, I was wondering if this is something I should be concerned about? some websites say its fine others are mentioning cancer, I m 23 slightly overweight and not taking any contraception pills.
Hello As you mentioned in the query that you are just 23 years old , previously your menstrual cycle was regular . Now , it is irregular , you are getting deposition of fat . gaining weight , so all these symptoms may be due to these possibilities , these include: 1 Ovarian cysts . Cysts are often caused by hormones changes .Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of both ovaries . 2 Anemia , as I have noted in many cases that if hemoglobin level is less then irregular or scanty menstrual is common ( however few cases of anemia may be due to excessive bleeding ) Diagnosis can be confirmed by hemoglobin examination. 3 Anxiety or tension are other common causes. So in my opinion consult a "GYNECOLOGIST " and get his opinion.
