What Causes Irregular Orangish Patches On Hands And Feet?

My friend called today for my advice/opinion. She has seemingly overnight developed rust/orangish patches on her hands and feet. They are more predominant on her feet. Irregular size and shape, different sizes, and asymmetrical. What could be the causes of this? She is a truck driver. I do not think she has ingested too much carotene.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Let me tell you that the symptoms described by you suggest that you have vesicular hand/foot dermatitis. You can better send me a photo of the patches on reports in order to better evaluate it. In this situation, I suggest you use topical corticosteroid creams apply locally. I also suggest taking fluconazole tablets weekly basis. I recommend you Well-fitting footwear, with 2 pairs of socks to absorb sweat and reduce friction.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Arup Majumdar, General & Family Physician
